Tucked into the curve of the Vecht, just outside Amsterdam, a quiet transformation is underway.
A renovation of a classic Dutch dijkwoning in Weesp — a house with history, character, and a long-overdue need for renewal. The new design reimagines this timeworn structure into a flexible, light-filled home for a creative family, growing in every sense.
Working within a tight budget, and with the owners building much of it themselves, the project is a study in resourcefulness: how to do more with less. Every decision had to count — prioritising space, adaptability, and a strong connection to the landscape beyond the dike.
With clever interventions and stripped-back materials, the house is being reshaped from the inside out — opening up to light, air, and life along the water.
